The porcelain long rod insulator is similar to disc insulator, for suspension or strain situation. The difference is that long rod insulator is usually with bigger creepage distance. Each insulator string need fewer pieces of long rod insulators than disc insulators when the system voltage is same. Usually one string need only one long rod insulator.
